Home Health Aides

Many of VNASC’s patients think that the help from their home health aide is the most important part of their care and most of us would agree—a good bath has a way of making us feel much better.

Home health aides are nurse’s aides in the home—there to help with personal care and activities of daily living so that you can concentrate on getting better. Under the direction and supervision of the nurse or therapist the aide can attend to those activities which are difficult for you to do while you are ill and recovering. Home health aides are also available to assist patients who are not acutely ill but have difficulties from chronic conditions and need assistance to remain at home. The service of a home health aide may be paid for by Medicare or other insurance however, private arrangements may also be made.
